Do you have one of those shiny new MacBook Pro’s with a Retina screen? Freckle is now almost 100% retinafied, meaning that it will literally look sharper on high-density displays. (This is not only the case for the new MacBook Pro’s, but you’ll also see the shiny on other devices, like iPads!)
If you’re on a normal screen, click the screenshots to see all the detail!
While Freckle never was a sloth when it comes to loading speed, and even if you don’t have a retina screen, the updates we did also affect the way we load and serve our JavaScript and CSS (nerd alert!). What this means is that Freckle will now load even faster (especially if you have a slower connection). Plus, we also started going over all the pages and components that we know can slow down when you have a lot of data. For example, one area we turned some performance knobs for is the project list page—this page should load quicker now, especially if you have a lot projects. More tune-ups to come!
P.S. If you’re interested in how we Retinafied Freckle—Thomas wrote an ebook about the process so you can do it as well! As a reader of the Freckle Blog, and because you’re awesome, you can use coupon code AWESOME to get $5 off Retinafy your web sites and apps!
